Our training programs are designed for individuals and groups working and traveling in some of the most environmentally extreme and remote areas on Earth. Workers in such locations need to be better prepared, more self-reliant, and realistic in their approach to workplace safety, and our programs are founded on these principles. The investments we have made in developing effective training packages that exceed regulatory requirements contribute to a growing safety culture throughout Canada and abroad.
Arctic Response provides a range of training methods and strategies to maximize your return on investment of training time and dollars.
In-person training provides the best opportunity for knowledge and skill transfer, allowing instructors to adjust their method of instruction to the needs of their class. The combination of mental and physical stimulation and exercise improves student interest and learning retention. In-person training is significantly the most flexible and effective way of developing muscle memory, group dynamics and learning to perform under stress.
On-line training can be a convenient and cost effective means of knowledge transfer. While not suitable for skills and actions that require practical exercises to build muscle memory, performance under stress or developing interpersonal skills, it can be highly effective at introducing concepts, initial theory learning and knowledge reinforcement.
Improvements in on-line training strategies and technologies continue to evolve. Arctic Response has joined the BIS learning network, providing thousands of on-line learning options and resources.
Blended courses are an excellent means of combining the advantages of both distance learning and in-person training. Blended courses consist of on-line theory and in-person training portions. This maintains the candidate’s ability to schedule and absorb theoretical learning points at their own pace. Once all the candidates have successfully completed the on-line portion of the program, they are ready for group based hands-on training. This training method provides greater scheduling flexibility, eases logistics and reduces travel costs.
