Commercial Driver (Classes 1 – 4)

Arctic Response provides commercial driver training (Classes 1, 2, 3 and 4 + airbrakes) to residents of Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon.  These programs prepare students to successfully complete both the written and practical commercial driver’s exams for the classes of license being sought.

M.E.L.T Standards

Our Class 1 commercial driver program fully complies with the new Canadian standard for Mandatory Entry Level Training (M.E.L.T).

The majority of our commercial driver training programs are coordinated and delivered at the community level.  Arctic Response will liaise with government officials to coordinate both written and practical licence testing immediately after training to maximize the student’s success rates.  A separate fee payable to the testing agency is required.

At the completion of training, the commercial driver tests are delivered by the appropriate government department of each jurisdiction.  Due to limited roadway infrastructure, complete road testing in smaller communities is often not possible.  Therefore, travel to a larger community, acceptable to driver examiners, for final testing may be required. Where practical, Arctic Response can deliver most of the driver training program in the student’s home community, then coordinate a final phase of training and testing in the closest suitable community.
