Arctic Response delivers Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training on behalf of the Academy of Emergency Training.

EMR is the threshold program for careers in prehospital medical care such as ambulance attendants and industrial medics. The program includes learning a systematic approach to patient assessment as well as pre-hospital treatment for various medical and traumatic injuries.

The territories of NT and NU do not have licensing of pre-hospital care providers; however, northern graduates of this program are able to write the EMR licensing exam in the province of British Columbia.  Candidates who graduate and become licensed in British Columbia can apply for licensing in most other provinces with minimal difficulty; call for additional details.

In addition to EMR medical protocols, this program educates candidates in more advanced anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ambulance operations.
