These courses are intended to support students in mastering the materials and testing procedures necessary to achieve Mine Supervisor Level 1 and 2 accreditation. Content includes an overview of the structure of acts and regulations governing work at mine sites, and practice in the use and interpretation of essential resources such as the Mine Safety Act. Students also develop reading and writing strategies geared towards increasing success on the WSCC written tests required to achieve these certifications. Level 1 certification is intended for surface operations while Level 2 is intended for underground operations.
