Health and Safey Training Camp

Arctic Response Canada Ltd. is pleased to offer free Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training for workers from rural Northern communities. The training covered by this initiative will increase participants’ knowledge of their legislated right and responsibilities, use and maintenance of PPE, and how to safely carry out work in potentially hazardous environments through a blend of hands-on training and classroom discussions.

    No, this program is funded by the WSCC.

    Registration priority will be given to individuals living outside of Yellowknife and Inuvik, open seats will be made available to people in Yellowknife and Inuvik closer to the training date. We are taking a waitlist for this program if you’d like to be contacted when seats open.

    Arctic Response will provide all the equipment and materials for each course.

    Students must be a minimum of 18 years old to register.

    No, Arctic Response will not be providing meals. Students will need to bring their own lunch or go to a local establishment. We have mini fridges and microwaves available for students who wish to have lunch in the classroom. Arctic Response will provide coffee throughout the program.

    Priority registration will be given to students taking all courses, however we will open seats for individual courses closer to the training date. We are taking a waitlist for individual courses if you’d like to be contacted when seats open.

    Training will be from November 19th to December 4th.

    No, training will take place from Monday to Friday.

    Training will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day, with an hour break for lunch and regular breaks throughout the course.

    No, Arctic Response is not covering flights, accommodations, or transportation for the duration of this program. Rental vehicles, taxis, and public transportation are all available in Yellowknife, and there is a bus stop near our office.

    Yes, free parking is available in front of our office.
