Snowmobile Safety and Operations (Yellowknife)

Snowmobile Safety and Operations develops planning, awareness, and riding skills of candidates of any experience level who operate a snowmobile for work or recreation. Practical exercises allow candidates to progressively increase their comfort and ability to ride under various conditions, and to deal with unexpected emergencies. Content includes a review of applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws, company specific policies, pre-trip planning, basic user maintenance and troubleshooting, loading and unloading from a trailer, safe riding techniques, emergency maneuvers, assessment of terrain hazards, and the essentials of winter survival.

Equipment: Candidates must provide their own snowmobile and Department of Transportation (DOT) approved helmet. A limited number of snowmobiles and helmets may be available for rent from Arctic Response on a first-come, first-serve basis.
