Youth Training Camp

This 5 day camp aims to introduce youth to conservation and safe practices that will help develop closer relationships with nature so that we can ensure that the next generation will be safe and responsible custodians of the land.  Students will learn fundamental outdoor skills in a safe, fun, and controlled environment with 2 of our expert instructors.  The following courses are included:

  • Youth First Aid (Days 1 & 2)
    • Students will learn the basics of first aid skills such as ABCs, CPR-C, AED, bandaging, and more.
  • Wildlife Awareness (Day 3)
    • Students will learn about the dangers of wildlife in the north, what to do in a wildlife encounter, and non-lethal intervention methods (in-ert bear spray, bear bangers, etc).
  • Hiking and Navigation (Day 4)
    • Students will go on a local hike and learn the fundamentals of land navigation.
  • Camp Craft (Day 5)
    • Students will learn the basics of setting up a camp and fire craft (fire advisory permitting).
