Overview

Advanced First Aid Course enables graduates to stabilize emergency situations in pre-hospital environments. Training is ideal for security personnel, teachers, health and safety committee members, designated workplace first aid team members, volunteer firefighters, internal EMS personnel, wilderness guides, camp instructors, and lifeguards. Content includes primary and secondary scene management, advanced first aid procedures, airway management, oxygen therapy, c-spine management, spinal boards, patient packaging, motor vehicle accidents, and patient transfer to Emergency Medical Services.

The First Aid programs taught by Arctic Response meet or exceed national, territorial and provincial standards and incorporate the most recent  2010 Heart and Stroke CPR Guidelines.  Additionally, Arctic Response sits on the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Committee currently developing CSA standards for Workplace First Aid.

CPR with AED Training is available at the following levels:

  • A – Adult patients | 1/2 day
  • B – Adult and child patients | 1/2 day
  • C – Adult, child, and infant patients | 1/2 day
  • HCP-C For Healthcare Providers, adult, child, and infant patients | 1/2 day
