Arctic Winter Survival (Yellowknife)
Arctic Winter Survival training is for persons who work and travel in remote northern areas below the tree-line.
This intense program provide knowledge and skills to greatly improve survivability during emergency events such as air crashes, vehicle collisions, or becoming lost in remote areas.
Arctic Survival is serious training and should not be confused with winter camping. Our instructors challenge each individual student to their personal limit, regardless of the candidate’s outdoor experience or level of physical fitness. Students will leave this program with new land skills and confidence in their ability to persevere through discomfort and fatigue.
Day 1 of training is in-class theory at Arctic Response. Days 2 – 4 are practical, on-the-land training where students will be sleeping in their shelters for two nights. All students are required to have appropriate equipment and gear for training. Arctic Response has all necessary gear available for rent or purchase; or students can bring their own. Request a copy of the equipment list by emailing info@arcticresponse.ca
